Yeah, I guess we've all had those but 60 yrs later??? C'mon!

After some of the stories I'm hearing here I wonder about jobs from days gone by!!!

As an apprentice I soldered all the 2" "L" cold lines, 1 1/4" HW and 1" recirc. on a commercial job we were doing at the time. After filling with street pressure, then disconnecting and hydrostatically pressurizing to 280# the boss grabs a 4' 2x4 and starts wailing on all my piping! WTF!
I guess what he was trying to prevent was what I'd seen in that house.
Test it way beyond max and if it holds then it passes.

Makes alot of sense after hearing of some of the things that have shown up for you guys. I mean, I've had fittings (copper and PEX) that started dripping after a HS test, but after so many years? Makes you wonder what you're liable for after x number of years.
