Default Employee vaccinations?

Just did a 2 man sewer with one of my coworkers and through our conversation he told me he hasn't had his hepatitis vaccinations or a tetanus shot. I told him to talk to the boss about it and get it done. Appearently he was told it would have to be done on his dime. I understand to a point but I feel like its a serious issue. I don't feel like someone should work in $hit without being vaccinated. So my two questions for you guys, is it common practice for employers to pay for their employees shots? And would you let somone work for you in sewer and drains when you know that they are not vaccinated for hepatitis?

We work in healthcare system a lot and it is mandatory for all my guys to have there shots. Don't see that it is there cost. I always put that is as a base cost.

I have mine but I do belive it would have to be the employers that pay for it since I see it as being a personal protection equipment in our line of work. The employer also pays for other safety equipment and safety is what it provides.

I once had a supervisor tell me:
"you can't get hepatitis b from sewage"

I felt like reaching across the table and ***** slapping him, for endangering his guys for years.

The policy has now been changed the squeaky wheel gets the grease
