Expect a huge difference in pay scale in Florida. Good luck finding a job if you're in construction. And Florida does not reciprocate with ANY state, government, or municipality. They also do not require a Journeyman license to work for a licensed company. Hence the difference in pay. Well, that and the billion out-of-work desperados.

DO NOT GO TO VOLUSIA COUNTY! I just left there because of the lack of work. It is also the lowest paying county in Florida. I often see adds for service plumbers in areas like Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa and Orlando.

Good luck.

Man, if you have a job now, I would suggest keepin' it.
Down here on the 27th parallel, things are tough.
Had an experienced guy come in the shop the other day lookin' for
a job. His 99 weeks of unemployment is about to run out. He was
a refugee from a formerly big outfit in the Orlando area. All the big
boys have downsized or gone under and the small shops (like us)
ain't hirin'. There's just not enough new const. goin' on, and there
won't be for a while. 40 years in business and an established
service base is keepin' us alive.

Yeah, c'mon down, you're the next contestant on the Price is right. If the plumbing thing doesn't work out, you could always sign up for the gov't.'s monthly paycheck program. Millions are doing it right now...
