If they drilled that then we would have more supply and that would bring the price down and we would have alot of unhappy rich people.

I have been told that fuel prices are affected most by commodity speculators rather than supply and demand.

True, But when they spectulate that we will have less oil they start buying it up and bring the price up. Thats why when they think a middle eastern country may cut oil supply the prices go up.
