THis morning my wife met with one of her (our) good friends. She burst into tears and told a horrible story. Last night at 10:30 some guy got into a really close friends home. This is a gated community of about 50 or so beach front homes in Ventura, CA. This guy was wearing a motorcycle helmut and went after the mother 41 yrs old. She was murdered with a knife. The father came into the kitchen and was fighting with the guy, and he was murdered too. This all happened in front of the their 8 yr old son. They have a daughter but she was asleep. The guy left after he killed the dad. The father owned some kind of iron works business. Wife and I didn't know these people directly, but know many who did. Their kids are the same ages as mine so I am sure I have seen them around. Here's the kicker....My wifes Uncle lives in that same community and I was working on his house yesterday for a few hours. Everyone leaves their back door sliders open. The owner of Patagonia has a house right next door to her Uncle. I just called him and he said things were just crazy over there. I remember hearing sirens and choppers overhead last night as I live not far from them.

Something stinks...who kills 2 parents with a knife and not steal anything or take the kids.....I don't know much more than this but I doubt this was a random act of violence. Either way......2 kids the same age as mine no longer have parents. This stretch of beach has some of the most expensive beach front homes South of Santa Barbara. Crazy shyit.

Mom and son were watching TV, mom went to get up and get something to eat, and that's when the intruder entered. Each parent was stabbed about 10 times. The boy went running into his sisters room. Apparently did not see dad get killed. The mom was 4 or 5 months pregnant with 3rd child. My wife did some charity work for the organization the lady was president of. This is going to be a long day.

Somebody didn't pay their bills and they paid with their life...or something to that effect.

There's no doubt the guy accomplished what he set out for...but strangers do not kill strangers for no reason. It's probably a business transaction gone bad or something to the effect.


That boy has it rough....unhinged anger for the rest of his life.

Home invasion! The father beaten tied to a chair in the basement. The wife forced to drive to a bank and withdraw $10,000, then raped and murdered. 2 Daughters 11 + 17, one of which was raped, both beaten then tied to beds then doused with gasoline along with the house and set on fire. both were alive when set on fire and died in the fire. The father escaped from the basement with serious injuries.

Somehow I don't think they will slip through the cracks of the parole system again...

Plenty more where they came from though.
If you rely on the goverment to protect you and your family you are under protected!!

This is gonna suck, but it's my own little therapy so bare with me...

In my initial post I did not mention the names of the 2 killed because I just didn't know at the time. Nor did I mention that 2 doors down from my uncles house was where our friends, the Husted's lived.

This morning I had called my Uncle and asked WTF was going on, he just said that things are crazy and he had to go....I heard the word Brock or like F-ing Brock as we hung up. I had assumed that Brock was over at his place as he often was, was just doing the media thing or talking to the cops. I have only met Brocks wife once at a wedding last year and it was rather brief...hi, how are ya - kind of thing. I have hung out with Brock on many occasions....mainly watching a game at a locar bar - drinking....that sort of thing. Last week after the Laker game which me and a small group of guys were hanging out, me - my wifes uncle and Brock went out to a few bars and were just having a blast. uncle lasted till about mid night, brock and kept it rolling till about 2:30 ish. He got into a cab, shook his hand and said I'll see ya later. That was my last time for him.

We all spoke the next morning to compare hang overs and make sure no one drove home, and that we were all accounted for.

When the wife called her friend back to ask the names of who were killed I was standing over her shoulder. She had a pen and paper and was writing it down. I remember thinking, hurry the F- up I wanted to know. She started writing Davina (I thought who the hell is that) to be honest, I didn't even remember her name, but I could recognize her. Than she wrote the name Brock. My first thought was that's weird, there's someone else that lives in that community with the same name as Brock? I attempted to call a few people to get the story straight...no one was answering. Finally I called another buddy who was with us that last night we went out and he answered the phone in a very down mood. instantly I knew, and I just said WTF is going on at Faria Beach? He just replied Brock and his wife are gone.

He apologized for having to be the one to tell me and we briefly spoke about what we knew so far. We spoke of how/why this sort of thing would happen to him, we both agreed it seemed like a hit was put on him but we are hearing things that the media doesn't get to know about. I don't need to get into all that, nor am I certain about anything. The news reported there was at least one other break in last night and one man has been picked up in La Conchita (the place where there was a massive landslide that killed an entire family except for the dad and other neighbors died too. That person had something that may have put him at the crime scene, but I don't know the exacts. So for all of today, the police used my uncles back sun deck as a police staging area. I understand they left just after the 5:00 news. My uncle and his wife will not be staying at home for a little while. The neighbor that was all over the news (old guy) I was yappin with him the other day when I was over there working. He was having new windows installed. They filmed him talking from my uncles house which was weird to see, to say the least because my truck was just there.

It's been a rough day to say the least. I went to work in a lame attempt to get my mind off things, but failed miserably at that. My sadness is starting to turn into anger and there isn't sh*t I can do about it. I feel terrible for my friends who were alot closer to them and for their children, they are with moms sister today.

They are terming it a triple homicide, if they catch the guy they can get him for murder 2 with special circumstances which he could get the death penalty. If it was premeditated, obviously the death sentence is usually issued if there is no plea.

As bad as this sounds, I hope it was some random act versus an actual hit. I don't know anything about his business practices, we just never really spoke about work....usually kids - sports - trips taken...that sort of thing. It's a sad day in my parts. Thanks for listening.
