Default Hummingbird Fish locator

Do any of you guys have a Hummingbird? I've had mine for 3 years now and noticed that the wire is pulling out of the transducer. It's all molded in so you can't take it apart. A new one is 75 bucks. Has anyone else had the same issue? Suppose I can buy a new one, but it F'ing pisses me off.

Never had the problem. Is the wire too tight from the boat to the transducer?

Never had problem with mine nor the boat till my friend used it.
Now I have no fish finder and no boat. He ran aground up at Salisbury Ma. 1998 In the Jetty while fishing for stripe bass. Friends should never let friends barrow boats Oh well it was an old Glastron 16 foot. Thanks Sea Tow you tried.

Which model do you have?

I've had a 787 ci Nav for a few years and have never had a problem with it.

I do know that there are lots of "New Old Stock" transducers out there. I'm sure you can find one for a bit less than the $75.00.

Have you contacted Humminbird?

I had the same thing happen but mine is a Garmin. It was obviously installed to low and a stump or something tore it off. West Marine has one on sale this week. Its a plain jane but only 89.00
Beats paying 75 just for a transducer, unless of course you have to be the big wheel and get a super duper color one. Fish is fish no matter what locater you use. Kinda like a turd.
How was that for an analagy?

I've got a new Lowrance M68C that I use more for GPS and seeing the bottom depth than anything else...

Funny but if you want to see the fish nothing better than an X-15 paper chart after all these years...
