One time. If you ever sell it the new buyer must go thru a class 3 dealer and pay the fee again.

You must also notify the BATF in writing anytime you are going to transport it across state lines. They are not legal in some states so check before you take it some where.

FYI, most of the time they are NOT like they sound in the movies. All have them have a load pop the first shot do to the air in the silencer aka "can". The following shots are much quieter though.

Thanks for the info. yeah they make alittle noise and also if you shoot hypervelocity ammo you will hear a crack from the bullet breaking the speed of sound. If its a one time fee then I dont know why I dont have one already...I was under the impression that you had to have a class3 license to own one and that cost 200.00 a yr. But yeah if its a one time fee of 200 then I'm all in. I will be checking! Thanks!

First off find out if a suppressor is legal in your area!

Second I hate rimfire. Too unpredictable.

I dont shoot anything that comes from a store, I reload my own.

Funny you should mention that Bill. My lee press just showed up today. I've got everything on hand to start making cartridges but the primers. Everybody is sold out!

Good to know that there is a veteran reloader on hand as I've never done this before. I can't get the shell holder into the autoprimer. It goes almost all the way in but then gets real tight and will not fully seat. Any ideas?

I'm going through a gunshop so they better be checking if its legal. I cant remember the last time I pulled the trigger on any of my guns and they didn't fire. I use to shoot alot and reload 9mm ammo until the new wore off of all the necessary steps to properly reload used brass. Watch your case lenghts..they tend to stretch each time your fire them. You'lll need to trim the cases sometimes. Becareful with primer trays full of primers! Also remember hot loads will ruin your guns. If you measure out each powder charge by hand you will get great consistant groups. The best shooting I've ever done was with my own reloads. Its just gets old after a while. These tips where meant for protech.

Which press do you have Protech? The Loadmaster? The Lee presses look nice but I wasn't too fond of mine. They don't give you much in the way of instructions do they? I sold all of my reloading equipment when I quit competing. (IDPA) If ever I start loading again I think I will go with the Dillon presses.

Back when I competed I would load my own ammo for competion 'cause the load factor. What we could load down to wasn't as hot as factory ammo. For practice I would just buy factory ammo. I was shooting 4 days a week back then and just couldn't find the time to load that much ammo. It was easier to just buy it. Sometimes I wish I didn't sell all of my equipment 'cause now I don't shoot as much and I could find the time to load all of the ammo I need and the cost savings for my casual plinking would be worth it.

Thats why i sold my old equipment.....the fun wore off and ammo was dirt cheap. back in the early 90's when I was into this **** hot and heavy you could buy a box of 50 9mm fmj for 5 bucks. I reloaded several several thousands of 9mm rounds just for the sake of learning how. I know I gave away my dies but I still might have the press. Reloading ammo is not for a person who overlooks details or plays games....it can be deadly dangerous. never leave the tops off the powder and remove the powder from your bench before you start loading up your shells. Cleanup all splilt powder right away and never have your primers out with your powder. YOU must be clean and neat to keep it safe. Also if your safe and do the proper steps measuring your powder out, measuring how deep you seat the bullet into the case, how deep you seat the primer into the case will all contribute to safety and very consistant rounds which equal to tighter groups on the range. The ammo gets so consistant that you can really get some tight groups.

I had or still have maybe a rcbs rockchucker single stage press. Dillion makes the best reloaders...or they did back in the 90's...I dunno whats happening today with reloading but from looking at guns shows dillion still looks popular.

Volquartsen and tactical solutions both make after market parts for that ruger pistol of yours. Volquartsen also makes their version of the .22 ruger's and i think a .17m2 cal. also.
