Default I burnt my nose today

How stupid is that? An awkward location trying to solder K copper while standing on my head and a shower of boiling flux and solder lands right on the end of my freakin' nose!
Now I've got a blister the size of a VW Golf right front and center for everyone to see (and it kinda hurts). Everywhere I've gone today people give me the ol, "OH! " and I'm tired of explaining to everyone what that gawd-aweful thing on my face is from.

Now I'm just making shiot up, "I was shreddin' with some dudes uptown on are boards and took this narly flip, man!" and what have you.

(I was ice fishing and a pike jumped thru the hole and bit me. Bungee jumping incident. etc)

molten flux is nasty stuff.. Its like napalm i have permanent scars from that from back in the day as a apprentice learned quick to wipe the excess flux before making up those joints

Yeah yeah.
That's why when I had tears welling in my eyes I was still laughing at myself. AAMOF the fist thought that entered my head at the exact millisecond that it happened was, "What are you? 9 yrs old? Couldn't you see that coming?"

But in my defense, I was in an awkward spot and literally did have to climb bedstead over breakfast to accomplish that one stoopid solder joint.

I know it's funny and all, but it makes me hurt thinking about it.

It'll be ok Miguel. I believe all of us thats been in the trade a while have scars. That reminds me of the time I was sweating some 2" copper in the basement of a bank. I am 6'-2" so I figured I could stand on a 5 gal bucket to reach the joint. There was a 4" pvc drain line at head level right in front of my face as I was soldering. I had a B-tank torch in one hand and solder(streched out about 2ft.) in the other. Might I add I was 6yrs. into my plmb. career(fairly green). Anyway, I had a solder drip fall off the joint and splash on the 4" pvc drain in front of my face. Molten solder flew into my right eye. I screamed like a Bi#*h! Dropped my lit torch and ran around like a chicken with my head cut off. Had to go to the ER and have them dig hardened solder out of my eye. What a dummy. Learned my lesson too!!

Similar thing happened to me I installed a heater and the ball valve had a pin hole in it. I cut it out and soldered in the new one and a drop of solder landed in the small puddle sitting on top of the heater In slow motion I seen this blob of solder coming right at my nose. I couldnt move it just kept getting closer and bigger. It went straight into my right nostril. I started dancing around and flicking my nose like I was playing a banjo. Eyes watered up and I couldnt see anything. I still dont have any hair grow in that side of my nose.

I was on a service call years ago and I was fixing a leak on a 3/4" pipe in a tough spot and i didn't have my safety glasses on and got hot molten solder in my eye. The funny part is I had this little kid like 5 years old watching and he says " Want me to get my mommy? she is an eye doctor!" sure enough she was an eye surgeon! what luck.. I still ended up in the ER to get some solder out. man... I had no eye lashes for awhile after that too.
